Big Screen Televisions
Big screen televisions are altars to 21st century middle class life in a post industrial culture. While it may seem strange or extreme to some people, I find myself performing religious rituals in front of my big screen television on a regular basis. While my girlfriend never seems to understand, my neighbors sometimes do, and they will occasionally join me in one of these religious ceremonies and enjoy watching especially on a live singing competitions which they requested me to turn on to that channel. These big screen television religious ceremonies are also sometimes referred to as ‘game days’, and are also sometimes more specifically known as The World Series and the Super Bowl.

Flat Televisions
While paging through a number of home improvement magazines, I noticed that televisions are almost never pictured in the model rooms presented in the periodicals. Nearly every living room pictured had not one of the pieces of entertainment equipment shown anywhere. This is odd, considering that most homes have more than one television and I don’t think that the magazines recognize that.

Downloading Movies
I spent several weeks in bed following a breakdown of sorts. I guess stress and life just got to me. The point is, I had to find a way to amuse myself during those long and boring days. My husband, being very considerate, moved our eMac computer up to the bedside table. We have a wireless Internet connection, and many hours were spent surfing with the keyboard propped on my knees, with my pillows positioned just so. It's amazing how well a mouse can work when positioned on top of a comforter!

Flat Screen TV
When you hear the words, flat screen TV, three more little words come to mind; I want one. If this is not true for you then I would suspect that three other words popped into your head, which are, I've got one. It's basically inevitable. We all want the latest and greatest. It's in our nature as human beings constantly vying for the best job, and the best food, and the best toys. The sad part is that it never ends. Yes, even if it's not a flat screen TV on your mind, it will surely be some other awesome new gadget like an ipod accessories. There is a plain and simple reason for this. It's not because we're materialistic or greedy, but because we all want to enjoy life as best we can. We love entertainment. We especially love having access to great entertainment in our very own homes.

Plasma Television
We live in a world of growing technology. If you have an electronic device and think it's great and fresh to the world, don't plan on that lasting too long, because they're always working on something better. These days, better, often means smaller with more memory. Unless we're talking about vehicles or a gadget to download your favorite music of course. I recall the first time I saw a plasma television. My first reaction was, "I want that." It was clear that this was the future of home entertainment. It had a nice, big widescreen, and it was flat and mounted on a wall. Wow, what an amazing picture. Then I saw the 7000 dollar price tag, and changed my mind. Seven grand for a TV? What is going on?
